Care guide for personalized textiles: DTF and Flocking
Published on December 1, 2025
To extend the lifespan of your personalized clothing, a few simple care rules apply. Here are our tips to keep your DTF prints and flocking looking like new for as long as possible.
Mistakes That Damage a Textile Print
- High-temperature washing (above 40°C) → prematurely degrades the print
- High-temperature tumble drying → can cause DTF or flocking to peel
- Ironing directly on the print → burns or deforms the marking
- Washing right-side out → mechanical friction that wears down the design
- Bleach or aggressive detergents → alter colors
Specific Care Instructions for DTF
- ✅ Wash at maximum 40°C inside out
- ✅ Use a delicate program
- ✅ Air dry or tumble dry on low temperature
- ✅ If you must iron, do it inside out without steam on the printed area
- ❌ No chlorine or bleach
- ❌ No dry cleaning
Specific Care Instructions for Flocking
- ✅ Wash at maximum 40°C inside out
- ✅ Avoid tumble dryer temperatures above 60°C
- ✅ Iron inside out or with a protective cloth between the iron and the flocking
- ❌ No scratching or abrasive rubbing on the flocked area
Actual Lifespan of Prints
With proper care:
- DTF: 50+ washes at 40°C without notable deterioration. Estimated lifespan 2-4 years depending on frequency of use
- Flocking: Very resistant, can last 5+ years with proper care. Quality flex vinyl withstands repeated washing
